Khawla Al Fahim has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Khawla currently holds the position of Director Data Strategy & Governance Department at the Department of Government Enablement since February 2020. Prior to this, they worked at the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) where they served as the Director of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Department from June 2019 to February 2020 and as the Manager of the Spatial Data Center from September 2013 to June 2019. Khawla also held various other roles at ADDA including Acting Manager, Data Projects Manager, and Data Projects Specialist.
Before their time at ADDA, Khawla Al Fahim worked in the military as a GIS technician and programmer from March 2003 to April 2010. In this role, they streamlined personnel management systems, designed project management systems, and maximized productivity through effective staff management.
Earlier in their career, Khawla Al Fahim worked as a programmer at the Higher Colleges of Technology from July 2000 to July 2001, where they analyzed organizational needs and developed effective programs. Khawla also had a work placement as a trainee at United Technical Services, UAE from February 2000 to April 2000, where they contributed to the development of solutions that improved workflow.
Khawla Al Fahim has an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde. Khawla also holds a Higher Diploma and a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology from Abu Dhabi Women's College. Additionally, they have a Diploma in Leadership Excellence Applied Diploma from Al Dar LEAD.
