Nitin Verma

Nitin Verma is a distinguished Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Tasmania, with a career spanning over two decades in various esteemed roles. Nitin serves as the President of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and holds the titles of Visiting Medical Specialist and Head of Department of Ophthalmology at Royal Hobart Hospital. Nitin has been an active ophthalmologist at Hobart Eye Surgeons since 2005 and also contributes as an Honorary Consul for Timor-Leste in Tasmania. Additional academic commitments include serving as a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. Nitin’s leadership experience in RANZCO includes past roles as Treasurer and Director, and involvement in the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Gateway Project as Secretary. Prior experience includes a tenure as an ophthalmologist at Royal Darwin Hospital.
