Nitsa Karahalios

Nitsa Karahalios is an accomplished leader in regulatory strategy and policy development with extensive experience in various sectors of the Victorian Government. Currently serving as Director for Health Service Facilities Regulation and Medicinal Cannabis, Tobacco & E-Cigarettes and Sex Work Reform at the Victorian Department of Health since May 2021, Nitsa previously held key positions including Project Lead at Agriculture Victoria, where focus was on reforming biosecurity legislative frameworks, and Director at the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation, overseeing regulatory strategy and client engagement. Nitsa also served at the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner, providing strategic leadership in policy and regulatory matters. Nitsa holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Melbourne.
