David Peters

David Peters currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, starting in June 2023. Prior to this role, David was the Division Chief for Applications Development and Services at the U.S. Census Bureau from May 2015 to June 2023. David has extensive experience in the technology sector, having held significant positions including Deputy CIO at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where responsibilities included leading a software development organization comprising around 1,000 staff and managing nearly $1 billion in annual spending. David's career spans various leadership roles, including Director of eCommerce Development at Simplexity and Director of Software Development at QPAY, among others. Educational credentials include a BA in Information Systems from Florida Atlantic University and a certificate in Architectural Drafting and CAD from Sheridan Vocational & Technical School.
