Irving Dennis

Irving ("Irv") Dennis, CPA, has significant experience in financial management and advisory roles. Currently serving as the CFO of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development since January 2018, Dennis advises the Secretary on financial management and oversees departmental policies and systems. Dennis also contributes to the American Cornerstone Institute as Board Member, CFO, and Treasurer, and serves on the Board of Cypress Mortgage Capital. An accomplished author, Dennis has published "Transforming a Federal Agency - Management Lessons from HUD's Financial Reconstruction" since September 2021. Prior to his current role, Dennis was a Global Client Service Partner at EY from January 1981 to June 2017, coordinating assurance services for major clients and advising executives on financial reporting and corporate governance. Dennis holds a BS in Accounting and Business/Management from Montclair State University, earned in 1981.
