Heather Nelson

Heather Nelson has extensive experience in workforce development and human resource management. Currently serving as the Manager of State Workforce Initiatives at the Department of Labor and Regulation since August 2015, Heather oversees programs aimed at connecting businesses with job seekers and enhancing South Dakota's workforce. Previously, Heather held the position of Workforce Development Representative at the State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, where responsibilities included assisting employers with recruitment, coaching job seekers, and managing unemployment insurance processes. Additionally, Heather has experience in human resources roles, including Human Resources Assistant at Westin Automotive Products, Inc., and intern positions at SPX Corporation. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
