Alina Cavanagh

Alina Cavanagh is an experienced media professional currently serving as Media Manager and Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries since February 2022. Previous roles include working as a Jawun secondee with Indigenous communities, Acting General Manager of Strategic Development for Consumer Protection at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, and several positions within the Department of Commerce, including Journalist and Acting Director of Consumer Information & Analysis. Alina has a strong background in communication strategies, particularly in consumer protection and COVID-19 messaging, and has held senior journalism and news editing roles in various media outlets. Alina holds a BA Hons in Media with a major in Journalism from The University of Sheffield.
