Sarah Thomson

Assistant Director, Community Policy & Engagement at Department of Premier and Cabinet (Tas)

Sarah Thomson has a diverse work experience background. In 2011, they started their career as a Graduate Policy Officer at the Department of Social Services (DSS). Sarah then worked at the Crime and Corruption Commission (Queensland) in various roles, including Operations Support and Senior Research Officer. From 2014 to 2018, Sarah worked at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Queensland) as a Policy Officer and Senior Policy Officer. In 2018, they became a Principal Advisor at the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors (Qld). Sarah then moved to the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Tas) in 2019 and took up the role of Senior Policy and Project Officer. In 2021, they joined the Department of State Growth (Tas) as a Principal Policy Officer before transitioning to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) as an Assistant Director. Sarah'smost recent position is as Assistant Director, Community Policy & Engagement in the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Tas) since 2022.

Sarah Thomson completed their Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Psychological Science degrees at Griffith University from 2006 to 2010. From 2016 to 2018, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Business with a focus on Public Sector Management Program at QUT (Queensland University of Technology). Sarah then furthered their education at The University of Queensland, where they obtained a Master of Governance and Public Policy degree between 2013 and 2019.
