Laureen Ida Ballesteros is a seasoned professional in the field of materials science and engineering with extensive research experience. Currently serving as a Senior Science Research Specialist at the Department of Science and Technology since 2020, Laureen also holds the position of Graduate Student Researcher in the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory - Semiconductor Group since 2015. Prior experience includes a Research Fellow role at the National Institute of Physics, contributing to the CHED-PCARI Project on portable sensor technologies from 2017 to 2019, and a Visiting Student Researcher stint at the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. Laureen's early career features positions such as Science Research Specialist I at the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory and an internship as a QA/QC Analyst at JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation.
