Darren Ash is an accomplished information technology leader with extensive experience in various high-level roles across federal agencies. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of the Interior since September 2022, Ash previously held the same title at the USDA Farm Service Agency from March 2016 to September 2022, where strategic direction and IT services for stakeholders were prioritized. Before that, Ash was the Chief Information Officer at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission from April 2007 to March 2016, overseeing information technology leadership and information management. Earlier roles include Associate CIO and Deputy Associate CIO at the US Department of Transportation, and a Program Analyst at the US Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. Ash holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from The George Washington University, a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from American University.
