Lani Shamash

Lani Shamash has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Lani currently holds the position of Director of Product & Technology Operations at Depop, where they have been working since 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Strategy & Operations and Head of Delivery at Depop. Lani started their career at Depop as a Senior Delivery Manager.

In addition to their roles at Depop, Lani Shamash has also served as a Trustee at You Make It since 2022. You Make It is a charitable organization that empowers young unemployed and underemployed women. Lani has been involved with the organization since 2018, initially as a mentor.

Before joining Depop and You Make It, Lani Shamash worked at Red Badger as a Delivery Director and Delivery Lead from 2015 to 2020. Lani also worked at Southbank Centre as a Website Transformation Project Manager and Website Project Officer, where they played a key role in developing the organization's website.

Prior to that, Lani Shamash worked as a Project Manager at the UN Special Rapporteur for Counter Terrorism and Human Rights from 2013 to 2014. Lani was also a Co-Founder of thePeoplesPower.co.uk, a not-for-profit organization, from 2011 to 2013.

Lani Shamash gained valuable research and coordination experience at Involve, where they worked as a Researcher/Team Coordinator and Research Intern. Lani also worked as a Research Intern at Go ON UK. Additionally, they served as a Grants Assistant at Heritage Lottery Fund.

Lani Shamash's early career includes being a Widening Participation Ambassador at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at London University.

Throughout their career, Lani Shamash has demonstrated strong leadership and project management skills, as well as a commitment to supporting and empowering others.

Lani Shamash's education history begins with their completion of A-Levels in Art, English Literature, and History at the LaSWAP sixth form consortium from 2003 to 2005. They then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Contemporary History at the University of Sussex from 2006 to 2009. Lani furthered their education by earning a Master's degree in International Politics, specializing in Near and Middle Eastern Studies, at SOAS University of London from 2010 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Lani Shamash has obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2014, they completed an Eight Week Coding Bootcamp at Founders & Coders C.I.C. They then obtained certifications in Agile Project Management Foundation and Agile Project Management Practitioner from APMG-International in January 2015. In August 2015, Lani obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance. Lastly, they earned the Agile Coach certification from Agile Coaching Institute in November 2016.
