Professor Emer O'Brien

Professor Emer O'Brien is an accomplished artist and educator with extensive experience in contemporary art, having collaborated with various galleries and educational institutions since 2002. Currently, O'Brien is a Professor of Digital Image and Documentary Photography at The American College of Greece and serves as a partner and gallery artist with multiple galleries including Emer O'Brien Atelier, Asclepeion Galleria, Art Appel Gallery, and Laura Mars Gallery, among others. O'Brien's artistic practice encompasses gallery exhibitions, site-specific installations, performances, and community programs, showcasing innovative works that provoke reflection on themes of memory and absence. Academic credentials include an MRES in Humanities and Cultural Studies from The London Consortium and an MA in Photography from Goldsmiths College, bolstering a commitment to art and education.
