Fabian Theis is a prominent academic and industry leader in the field of computational biology and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as the Scientific Director of Biomedical AI at Helmholtz Pioneer Campus since December 2022, Theis also holds several key roles such as Head of the Computational Health Center and Director of the Institute of Computational Biology at Helmholtz Munich. With extensive consulting experience at firms like Cellarity, Omniscope, and Immunai, Theis is also the co-chair of the AI Council for the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, and a partner at Dermagnostix GmbH. Academic appointments include Chair for Mathematical Models of Biological Systems at Technische Universität München and Associate Professor in Mathematics in Systems Biology. Theis's educational background includes a Diploma, PhD, and Habilitation in Mathematics, Physics, and Biophysics from the University of Regensburg, as well as a PhD in Computer Science from the Universidad de Granada.
