Amber Dakan

Amber Dakan has a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in various roles and organizations. Amber began their career as an Accounting Intern at the City of West Des Moines, IA, where they worked closely with the Accounting Manager and Budget Analyst on various tasks, including reconciling bank accounts and preparing financial reports. Amber then moved on to a Tax Accounting Internship at Brooks Lodden, PC, where they prepared federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, corporations, and partnerships, as well as assisting with bookkeeping. Amber later joined Imagetek as an Office Administrator and Accounting and Human Resources Manager, responsible for overseeing the accounting department, payroll, sales tax reporting, and financial management systems. Currently, Amber is working at DART - Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority, where they have progressed from Accountant III to Finance Manager and, most recently, Finance Director.

Amber Dakan attended Des Moines Area Community College from 2000 to 2002, where they studied General Business. Amber then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management from Iowa State University from 2002 to 2004. Following this, they completed their education at Drake University from 2006 to 2008, obtaining a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in Accounting.
