Sheri Kyras

Sheri Kyras was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in December 2022 to provide leadership to DART throughout the search for a new CEO for the agency.

Kyras has vast expertise in public transportation in Central Iowa, working for DART/MTA for 21 years before becoming the Transit Director for CyRide in Ames in 2006. In 2019, Kyras retired from CyRide after 12 years leading the organization. In her work for both agencies, Sheri was a vital part of projects including major changes to service, fleet and facility expansions and renovation projects.

She received her undergraduate degree in Management and Transportation Logistics from Iowa State University, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Drake University.
