John Alexander attended St. John's University from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English. John then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and History at St. John's University from 1978 to 1980. Following this, John Alexander enrolled at The Graduate Center, City University of New York from 1985 to 1995, and successfully earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in English Literature.
