Michelle Powers

Michelle Powers has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Michelle began their career as an Editorial Intern at NBCUniversal, Inc. in 2011, where they wrote and edited blogs for NBC Oxygen television shows and managed website content. In 2012, they interned at CBS News as a News Marketing Intern, gaining experience in logging traffic tapes, navigating the CBS News archive system, and screening footage for promotions. Later in 2012, they worked at WPIX-TV as a General Assignment Intern, covering the assignment desk and assisting producers in the development of various shows. In 2013, they joined NY1 News as a Field Producer and Videographer. In this role, they produced field reports and captured video footage. In 2014, Michelle joined DeSales Media Group as a News Reporter, covering news stories. Michelle then progressed within the company, becoming the Managing Editor of News Gathering in 2018, the Managing Editor of News Operations in 2019, and finally the Senior Manager of News Operations in 2022. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing news operations and ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the news team.

Michelle Powers completed their Master's degree in American Studies, Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Journalism and History from the same institution from 2009 to 2012.
