Josh Border

Josh Border, CPA, CMA has a diverse work experience in finance, compliance, and auditing roles. Josh is currently serving as the Director of Operational Finance at Descartes Systems Group since May 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Manager of Finance - Business Transformation at the same company from April 2019 to April 2022.

Before joining Descartes Systems Group, Josh worked at Economical Insurance from February 2018 to April 2019 as the Manager of Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management. During their tenure, they managed the regulatory compliance management audit program, facilitated annual risk and control self-assessment workshops, and assisted in developing the operational Key Risk Indicator (KRI) Dashboard.

Josh's earlier roles include Financial Analyst (Regional Finance Support) at Fastenal from January 2013 to October 2014, Auditor at Canada Revenue Agency from May 2012 to December 2012, and Appeals Officer at Canada Revenue Agency from September 2011 to April 2012.

Josh started their professional career as an Accounting Clerk at ML Tax Service in January 2011 and worked there until April 2011.

Josh Border, CPA, CMA has a strong educational background in accounting and business administration. Josh obtained their Advanced Diploma in Business Administration-Accounting from Conestoga College in 2010. In 2012, Josh completed their Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on accounting, audit, and IT from the same institution. Continuing their education, they completed the Strategic Leadership Program from the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario in 2015. Furthermore, they obtained their CPA, CMA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario in the same year.
