Mamatha Shekar

Mamatha Shekar, PhD, is an accomplished professional in health informatics and genomic sciences with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently, Mamatha serves as a Health Informatics Consultant at a Stealth Startup and holds the position of Strategic and Scientific Advisor at Descign. Additionally, Mamatha is an Academic Advisory Board Member at the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce. Past roles include Advisor in Digital Health at Bench International, VP of Clinical Assay and Development at Melio, and VP of Genome Sciences at Gali Health, where research focused on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and biomarker discovery. Mamatha also has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Human Genetics and was the Director of Biomedical Informatics at Illumina, leading successful teams and innovative products. With a Master's degree in Molecular Genetics and Pathology and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Mamatha's educational background supports a strong foundation in genetics and informatics.
