Tor Mæhlum Karlsen

Tor Mæhlum Karlsen is currently employed as the Chief Technology Officer at Desert Control since 2020. Prior to this role, they were a Consultant at Canrig Robotic Technologies since 2020. From 2018 to 2020, they were the Technical Product Manager - Software and Systems at TOMRA Systems ASA. From 2011 to 2018, they were employed at National Oilwell Varco in two roles: Product Champion - Maestro™ Drilling Power Allocation and Systems Engineer. In their Product Champion role, they were responsible for product development, project deliveries, compliance, quality assurance, technical support, sales support, budgets and team development. As a Systems Engineer, they were responsible for engineering, developing, designing and delivering projects for Drilling Control Interface (DCI) and HVAC systems. From 2010 to 2011, they were an Embedded Systems Developer at Cargosafe Systems, responsible for embedded system programming of intelligent cargo straps and a low energy sensor network.

Tor Mæhlum Karlsen received their Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2011, specializing in Cybernetics. Tor Mæhlum's studies began in 2005.
