Aj Long

AJ Long, M.A.T., serves as the Nevada Robotics Director and Engineering Education Leader at the Desert Research Institute since 2019. In this role, AJ oversees engineering education initiatives focused on STEM, robotics, and computer science. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Sage Ridge School as Head of Lower and Middle School and a middle school math and science teacher from 2001 to 2019. Earlier teaching roles were held at institutions such as Town School for Boys and Redwood Day School, where AJ specialized in various educational disciplines. AJ's teaching career also includes positions at Squaw Valley Academy and Colorado Outward Bound School, where outdoor and environmental education were emphasized. AJ holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sierra Nevada College and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University.
