Francesco Di Niccolo

Head Of Innovation at Design International

Francesco Di Niccolo has a strong background in architecture and design, with expertise in computational and parametric design. Francesco is currently working at Design International as an Associate and Head of Innovation, where they lead the use of computational design, coding, and AI/ML in the design process. Francesco also contributes to environmentally responsible and socially conscious design through data-driven models. Additionally, they are involved in virtual and physical prototyping using in-house VR/AR and 3D printing technologies. Prior to this role, Francesco worked as a Senior Architect at Design International, focusing on large projects in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and extensively utilizing parametric and computational design. Francesco also worked as a Senior Architect and Architect at various companies, specializing in retail, office, and theme park projects, with a particular emphasis on parametric design and facade design. Before that, Francesco gained experience as a Consultant in CG & Tutor at eBIS s.r.l. and as an Architectural Assistant at Luca Curci Architects. Francesco started their career as an Architectural Visualizer and Graphic Designer.

Francesco Di Niccolo earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Building Engineering + Architecture from Politecnico di Bari between 2006 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma di Maturità tecnica industriale in Meccanica from Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale "Sen. O. Jannuzzi" between 2001 and 2006. Francesco is also registered as an Architect in the UK by the Architects Registration Board.
