Derek Peden

Derek Peden is an experienced innovation manager at Design LED Products Ltd, with a strong background in product development and engineering. Since June 2009, Derek has led the Innovation Group and managed R&D projects, focusing on the commercialization of intellectual property. Previous roles include Product Development Manager, where responsibilities included managing product design engineers and ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, as well as Customer Applications Engineer, providing technical support to sales. Derek's extensive experience also encompasses roles as Innovation Champion at Construction Scotland Innovation Centre and a board member at Photonics21. With a PhD in Applied Physics and a BSc in Laser Physics & Optoelectronics from the University of Strathclyde, Derek has a solid educational foundation to complement a successful career that includes positions at Honeywell and MicroVue Ltd.
