Design West
Rana Alidad is a seasoned professional in the water and environmental engineering sector with extensive experience across various prominent firms. Currently serving as a Design West Panel Member, Rana focuses on Water, Strategic Development, and Climate to enhance the built and natural environments in the South West. Additionally, Rana holds the position of Technical Director and National Lead for Water Environment at Hydrock now Stantec. Previous roles include Associate at Odyssey, Principal Engineer and Team Leader at Sweco, Principal Engineer and Project Manager at Waterman Group, and Principal Engineer at Ardent Consulting Engineers. Rana started the career as a Flood Risk Engineer at Mott MacDonald. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree (with Distinction) in Water and Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey, a Master’s degree in Financial Risk Management from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
