Sean Jalleh

Sean Jalleh has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of design, education, and research. Sean started their career at the Ministry of Education in Singapore, where they served as a Design & Technology Teacher and later became the Head of Department. During their time there, they focused on developing teachers and achieving outstanding results for the department. Sean then moved on to work at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford and Ministry of Education in Singapore, where they led the implementation of Design Thinking principles in education.

Sean also worked at the MIT Media Lab & DesignSingapore, where they collaborated on creating transport solutions for Singapore in the future. At IBM Design, Sean served as a User Experience Researcher and Designer, leading teams in translating insights into UX concepts for various products. Sean played a significant role in shaping the trajectory of IBM's Artificial Intelligence platform.

Additionally, Sean worked at Novocor Medical Systems as a Product Designer and at North Carolina State University as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. Sean currently holds the position of Principal Designer at DesignMap, where they have held various roles over the years, including Lead Product/Service Designer and Senior Product Designer.

Sean Jalleh received a Master's degree in Industrial Design from North Carolina State University in 2013. During their time at the university, they also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Medical Devices. In 2012, Sean Jalleh attended the Feng Zhu School of Design, where they received a Certificate in Digital Painting & Concept Drawing. Prior to that, they earned a Certificate in Management & Leadership in Schools from the National Institute of Education in 2007. In 2003, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Education from the same institution. Sean Jalleh's undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering, which they obtained from Nanyang Technological University Singapore in 2002. In addition to their formal education, Sean Jalleh has obtained several certifications, including Design Leadership Fundamentals I from Design Dept. in 2022, and has served as a Peer Reviewer for various awards and associations in the field of Interaction Design.
