Stephen V. DeSimone

Stephen DeSimone joined the firm in 1988 and currently holds the position of President and CEO.

During his career, Mr. DeSimone has specialized in computer modeling of complex formed structures. In this pursuit, Mr. DeSimone has developed several techniques that enable complex surface information to be migrated from one computer application to another. Other areas of expertise include wind engineering, the use of composite systems and the design of high-rise concrete structures.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. DeSimone has focused on the design of residential and high-rise projects including 220 Central Park South (a 920-ft, 65-story residential tower in New York City); the Four Seasons Hotel and Tower (a 65-story, two million sf mixed-use tower in Miami, Florida); and Millennium Boston (a 1 million sf, 60-story residential tower in Boston, Massachusetts). Mr. DeSimone has been responsible for an extensive list of award winning projects such as HL23, IAC Headquarters, The Standard and the Four Seasons Hotel Tower San Francisco.

Mr. DeSimone is an active member of the engineering community. He was a founding member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY), and sat on the Steering Committee of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s Seventh World Congress. He is also an active member of the New York Concrete Industry Board and the American Concrete Institute, and sits on the board of directors of The Skyscraper Museum.

Mr. DeSimone received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Manhattan College and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in twelve states and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
