Wilson Ching

Wilson Ching is an Associate in DeSimone’s Chicago office within the firm’s structural engineering practice. He has over 25 years of experience providing design and construction phase services for a variety of civil and structural projects; including high-rise office and residential developments, mid-rise low-cost housing projects, as well as airport structures, industrial, commercial, land developments, and historic building conservation projects.

Mr. Ching’s work includes the design of industrial buildings for an online retailer located throughout the country. His other projects include Prime, a 596,000-sf, 37-story tower and Alcove, a 372,000-sf, 34-story residential tower, both located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee; Durham Center Tower, a 680,000-sf, 32-story residential tower in Durham, North Carolina; 505 Church Street, a 65-story residential tower in Nashville, Tennessee; 1201 W Lake, a 135,000-sf office and retail structure in Chicago, Illinois; 60 MW Data Center, a two-story building located in Nevada’s high seismic area; and the Caterpillar Headquarters, a two-million-sf mixed-use development in Peoria, Illinois.

Mr. Ching’s international experience includes Le Phare, a 1180-ft, 72-story mixed- use development located in Quebec City, Canada; Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s main terminal building in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in collaboration with Japan Airport Consultants; and Greenland Yinchuan Super Tall Towers, a 988-ft, 58-story twin office and hotel tower development in Yinchuan, China. In the Middle East region, Mr. Ching’s experience includes The Dubai Mall in UAE, the second largest mall in the world by total land area of 13 million sf and is home to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo with the world’s largest acrylic panel.

Mr. Ching received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines.
