Alejandro M.

Alejandro M. is a seasoned professional in fraud prevention and financial planning with extensive experience in leadership roles. Currently serving as a Board Member at MRC | Merchant Risk Council since June 2023, Alejandro has also held the position of Fraud Prevention Director at Koin since November 2020, contributing to a best-in-class antifraud solution that enhances customer conversion and combats fraud. Alejandro's role as Fraud Prevention Director at Despegar began in April 2018, building on previous experiences as Sr. Fraud Manager and Fraud Manager. Prior to these roles, Alejandro served as Controller at AccorHotels and co-founded Derbyfy. Additional experience includes a Senior Financial Planning, Analysis and Control Analyst position at MercadoLibre.com, where oversight of financial meetings for Uruguay and Colombia took place. Alejandro has also held positions in planning, risk management, and education, including teaching. Alejandro holds an MBA from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and a degree in Economics from Universidad de la República.
