Sergio Joel Magnacco

Sergio Joel Magnacco is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing and leading technical projects. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at Despegar since February 2012, Sergio has been instrumental in designing and coding Sofia, an AI solution for travel inspiration, as well as working on price prediction systems. Prior to this, Sergio held senior roles at Verizon Business, contributing to projects using Java and OO design, and served in various capacities including Project Leader and Java Developer at Maruba SA. Additional teaching experience includes roles as a Teacher Assistant at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional and as an AI Teacher at Image Campus. Sergio holds an Engineer’s Degree in Information Technologies from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional and is a certified Scrum Master through Scrum Alliance.
