David Gilbert

President & CEO at Destination Cleveland

David Gilbert has had a successful career in various leadership roles. David started their journey in 1991 as the Executive Director at North Coast Harbor, Inc. In 1996, they became the Director of Community Affairs at the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, where they worked until 1999. From 2000 onwards, Gilbert served as the President & CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. In 2011, they became the President & CEO of Destination Cleveland. Additionally, in 2015, they took on the role of President & CEO at the 2016 Republican National Convention Host Committee, which they held until 2018.

David Gilbert earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Marketing from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. David furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Marketing at Cleveland State University, which they completed from 1991 to 1994.
