Poonam Sharma

Poonam Sharma has a long and varied work experience in the field of science, beginning in 1998 with their role as a Lab Instructor at H. S. Gaur University. In 1998, they also began working as a Jr. Scientist at Lupin Laboratories Ltd., where they performed particulate matter analysis, endotoxin testing, and separation analysis on tuberculosis drugs, as well as isolated plasmid DNA of E. coli utilizing Cs-Cl density gradient. In 1999, they began working as an Assistant Professor at Govt. College of Science, where they taught Microbiology to undergraduate students and conducted various tests to identify bacteria from samples containing undisclosed pathogens. In 2007, they started working at Institute for Environmental Health as a Microbiologist, where they were responsible for microbiological testing of Portillo's food samples, equipments, and environmental swab samples to assess their food safety and quality system per FDA/BAM guidelines. In 2009, they began working as a Research Scientist at Avista Pharma Solutions, Inc., formerly Microtest Laboratories, where they designed and conducted medical devices and pharmaceutical products testing for rapid FDA regulatory approval to assure compliance with ISO for customers. In 2014, they began working at Ultimate Nutrition as a Senior Method Development Scientist/ Lead Scientist, where they managed QC lab and designed dietary supplements (finished and stability samples) testing per industry cGMP/GLP guidelines, provided technical support for Microbial/Molecular research projects, designed and executed daily experiments, developed SOPs, and performed data analysis to support research activities. In 2020, they began working at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. as a Scientist Specialist I. In 2021, they began working at Detect as a Senior Scientist Manager and Senior Scientist Quality. Currently, they are working at EpiBone, Inc. as Senior Manager Quality Control (Tissue engineering/ cell therapy).

Poonam Sharma attended Indian Jobs and Careers from 1996 to 1997, where they earned a BS in Biology. Poonam then attended H.S. Gaur University, Sagar from 1997 to 1999, where they earned a Master of Science in Microbiology & Biotechnology.
