Airica Savage Clapper

Airica Savage Clapper is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Grade 4 and 5 Dean of Academics and Student Life at Detroit Country Day School since August 2008, where responsibilities include teaching ELA, social studies, math, and serving as a middle school track coach. In addition, Airica has been a member and chair of the Association of Independent Michigan Schools since September 2014, supporting independent education in Michigan. As the founder of Little Waves Organization, Airica promotes environmental education among children. Furthermore, Airica is a children's book author with "The Adventures of Sip & Tip," which addresses the recycling journey of plastic through a relatable narrative. Previously, Airica held positions such as Vice Principal and Upper Elementary Head Teacher at Brookfield Academy and served as a substitute teacher at Clarkston Community Schools. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English from Western Michigan University, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Capella University.
