Laura Corp is an experienced operations and impact director currently leading the Detroit Means Business initiative at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation since September 2023. Previously, Laura served as Operations Director at Build Institute, where responsibilities included overseeing HR, finance, and project management for a team, developing income-producing programs, and enhancing employee benefits. Laura also held the role of Operations Manager at Humble Design, managing teams to furnish homes for families exiting homelessness and implementing data management through CRM systems. Laura's earlier experience includes various analytical and strategic roles at Chief Financial Credit Union, alongside positions at Advanced Time Management, Neighborhood House, and a leadership role in student government during studies at Rochester Christian University.

The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1978 devoted exclusively to supporting Detroit’s economic development initiatives. DEGC has been designed to make business success in Detroit possible. We know Detroit well, we know the city's government, and we're aware of the countless opportunities the city has to offer. The DEGC team consists of long-time members of the Detroit community who can inform you about all the things that make investing in Detroit a full, rich experience. DEGC is a private, non-profit organization. We're not part of the city of Detroit's government, but we are a long-time partner of it.
