Violet Ikonomova

Violet Ikonomova is an experienced investigative reporter currently with the Detroit Free Press since September 2022. Prior to this role, Violet held similar positions at Deadline Detroit from November 2018 to November 2022 and at Metro Times from January 2017 to November 2018. Violet's career in journalism began at the Associated Press, where Violet worked as a radio reporter and anchor from March 2014 to February 2017, and continued at CBS Radio from December 2011 to 2014 as a reporter, producer, and fill-in anchor. In addition, Violet briefly served as a fill-in anchor at WWJ-TV in August 2012 and as a reporter/videographer at WTAP-TV from 2010 to 2011. Violet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Political Science from Emerson College, completed in 2010.
