Rebecca Salminen Witt has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Rebecca began their career as an Attorney at Driggers Schultz & Herbst from May 1991 to January 1994, followed by a position as an Attorney at Kotz Sangster from February 1994 to October 1996.

Afterward, Rebecca took on a significant leadership role as the President and CEO of The Greening of Detroit from October 1996 to December 2016. During their tenure, they transformed the organization from a small initiative to a successful multi-dimensional NGO, overseeing diverse program areas and achieving substantial growth.

Rebecca then joined the Detroit Historical Society, where they held two key positions. From January 2017 to March 2021, they served as the Chief Development and Communications Officer. In this role, they personally managed top-level donors, increased social media engagement, and enhanced the institution's profile in the community.

Currently, Rebecca is the Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at the Detroit Historical Society, a position they have held since March 2021. In this capacity, they lead strategic planning and execution, aligning priorities and goals across departments and driving partnerships. Rebecca'sresponsibilities include envisioning organizational strategies for the institution's centennial celebration, managing teams responsible for earned revenue, and supporting key initiatives.

Throughout their career, Rebecca has demonstrated strong leadership, expertise in communication, and a track record of success in building and growing organizations.

Rebecca Salminen Witt attended Michigan State University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications. Subsequently, they pursued their Juris Doctorate degree in Environmental Law from Wayne State University Law School, graduating from there in 1992.
