Alan Darr

Senior Curator of the Department of European Paintings, Sculpture and Decorative Arts at Detroit Institute of Arts

Alan Darr has worked at The Detroit Institute of Arts, where they held the position of Walter B. Ford II Curator of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts. Alan later became the Senior Curator of the Department of European Paintings, Sculpture, and Decorative Arts. Alan started their work at the Detroit Institute of Arts in 2009 as the Senior Curator.

Alan Darr completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Philosophy at Northwestern University from 1966 to 1970. Alan then pursued a Ph.D. in Italian and Northern Renaissance and Baroque art at New York University, which they obtained from 1973 to 1980.
