Nancy Thayer

Nancy Thayer has been a fine artist since 1980, creating contemporary fine art paintings and sculptures for various purposes such as inspired interior design, gallery exhibitions, and health care facilities. Their work has been represented in galleries across the United States and can be found in over 100 corporate, private, and public collections. Nancy has also been commissioned to create major installations in public and corporate spaces throughout the country. From 1980 to present, Nancy Thayer was a contemporary artist/designer and co-owner at Archiforms. In this role, they provided contemporary paintings, site-specific sculptures, and other artworks to designers, architects, galleries, and collectors. Nancy was also commissioned to create public, corporate, and private sculptures, paintings, and murals. Furthermore, Nancy Thayer's paintings are included in the Contemporary Collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts since 1991. In 2013, they served as a guest curator at Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, organizing an exhibition that explored the importance and significance of land in the human experience. Nancy Thayer has also been an artist at Detroit Institute of Arts since 1992 and a faculty member at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design from 1998 to 2018. Nancy is a member of the Education Committee at the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit since 2007 and served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Japhet School from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Nancy Thayer participated in the ArtPrize event at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2010, where their large sculptural works were displayed at the museum's main entrance. Finally, they have been an artist at Ann Arbor Art Center since 1989.

Nancy Thayer's education history includes attending Michigan State University, where they obtained their B.A. and M.A. degrees. Nancy pursued a diverse range of fields, including Math, Art, and College of Arts & Letters. Additionally, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Art at Michigan State University.
