Nelly Cancilla

Digital Asset Manager at Detroit Institute of Arts

Nelly Cancilla has extensive experience in the library and information field. Nelly currently works as a Digital Asset Manager at the Detroit Institute of Arts since November 2022. Previously, they held positions at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where they were a Digital Scholarship and Liaison Librarian from March 2019 to November 2022 and a Communications and Liaison Librarian from November 2016 to March 2019. Prior to that, Nelly worked at the University of Toronto Libraries as a Copyright Outreach Librarian from September 2014 to October 2016 and as a Digital Asset Coordinator from June 2013 to August 2014. Nelly also gained experience at the Milton Public Library as an Information Services Associate in July 2014, at World Vision Canada as a Junior Archivist from May 2014 to August 2014, at Warren Industries, Inc. as an Administrative Assistant from September 2009 to August 2010, and at Borders Books as a Customer Service Representative from April 2006 to August 2006.

Nelly Cancilla attended the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained a Master of Information degree in Library and Information Science. Prior to that, they attended Oakland University from 2005 to 2009, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, General. Nelly Cancilla also holds a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the University of Saskatchewan, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
