Kenton Zehr currently serves as the Executive Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line at Detroit Medical Center since April 2019, with a vision focused on comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients in Detroit and surrounding areas. Previously, Kenton held the position of Associate Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital from January 2014 to March 2019, specializing in complex adult cardiac surgery, including aortic root procedures and cardiac transplantation. Kenton has also directed cardiothoracic surgery at Scott & White Healthcare and served as Senior Staff Surgeon at Perm Heart Institute in Russia, where responsibilities included training fellows and lecturing. Early career roles included administrative leadership at UPMC and a consulting position at Mayo Clinic. Kenton completed extensive surgical training at Johns Hopkins and Harefield Hospital, with a solid educational background that includes an MD from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and a BA in Biology from Eastern Mennonite University.
