Jamelle McMillan

Jamelle McMillan is a seasoned basketball coach currently serving as the Head Coach of the Motor City Cruise and Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons, a role commenced in June 2023. Prior to this position, McMillan was an Assistant Coach for the Atlanta Hawks from July 2021 to June 2023 and held the same title with the New Orleans Pelicans from July 2019 to July 2021, where responsibilities included providing individual player instruction and constructing scouting reports. McMillan also has experience as an Assistant Coach with the Phoenix Suns from June 2018 to April 2019 and previously worked in player development and as an Assistant Coach for the New Orleans Pelicans from 2012 to May 2018. In addition to coaching, McMillan co-founded Vortex Energy Investments, LLC, focusing on renewable energy investments from 2012 to 2014, and served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Drake University from 2011 to 2012. McMillan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Corporate Communications from Arizona State University in 2011.
