Matthew Grimm

Matthew Grimm is an experienced security professional currently serving as the Director of Corporate Security and Director of Team Security for the NBA's Detroit Pistons, a position held since November 2017. In this dual role, Matthew coordinates security protocols for all team activities while ensuring compliance with NBA regulations. Prior to this, Matthew worked as Senior Manager and Manager of Security at Palace Sports & Entertainment, overseeing security operations for major venues and events. Matthew's security expertise is supported by a background in the United States Marine Corps, where service included roles in Special Operations and anti-terrorism teams. Academically, Matthew holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University, along with various certifications in workplace security and homeland security.
