Kennisha Williams is an experienced professional in university engagement and academic advising, currently serving as the Manager of University Engagement at the Detroit Regional Chamber since January 2020. Previous roles include Coordinator of High School Outreach for the Detroit Promise and College Access Consultant. Kennisha also worked as an Academic Advisor at Henry Ford College and as Program Coordinator at Helping Hands Therapy, LLC, where responsibilities included outreach, social activities planning for seniors, and connecting them to essential services. Additionally, Kennisha served as a College Adviser for the Michigan State University College Advising Corps and held positions at Michigan State University's Neighborhood Engagement Centers and Foodtruck. Kennisha earned a degree from Michigan State University between 2012 and 2017.

Launched in 1979, the program aims to create awareness of key issues that affect the Detroit region and to challenge emerging andexisting community leaders to bring about positive change in the community through informed leadership.Leadership Detroit offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for professionals to take their leadership agenda to the next level. They offer a unique, behind-the-scenes approach to understanding the inner workings of the region and the people that make it work.Participants tap into a diverse pool of professionals that are actively engaged from multiple perspectives in improving the quality of life in the region. The conversation is open and fluid and embraces multiple perspectives. They create a space where new ideas can emerge and where assumptions can be challenged.
