Che began their career in 1994 as a Supervisor of Direct Care Services for the Neighborhood Service Organization. In 1998, they joined McDonald's Corporation as a Human Resources and Development Associate, where they were responsible for Human Resource generalist and training support for Detroit District's corporate and franchised owned restaurants. In 2000, they moved to Visteon as a Human Resources Supervisor. In 2010, they joined Johnson Controls as a Senior Supervisor of Human Resources, where they were responsible for the overall management of employee relations, labor relations, staffing, compensation planning, performance management, policy development & deployment and strategic initiatives. In 2012, Che Sims joined Detroit Thermal Systems, LLC as a Human Resources Manager.
Che Sims attended Central Michigan University from 1997 to 1999, where they earned a Master of Science in Administration with a focus in Human Resources Management. Che also attended Spring Arbor University from 1995 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health Services Management.
