Gerard Nimako, MS, is an experienced behavioral health specialist with a strong background in youth services and mental health. Currently serving as a Police Co-Response Behavioral Health Specialist at Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, Gerard provides crisis intervention alongside law enforcement. A youth podcast host for the Heavy Brand Podcast, Gerard motivates and inspires at-risk youth through interviews and discussion. Previous roles include Presentence Reentry Coordinator and Veteran Service Coordinator with the Denver Sheriff Department, where individual transition plans were developed for clients. Gerard has also contributed as a Youth Services Specialist in various capacities, including counseling incarcerated youth and managing youth advocacy projects. Academically, Gerard holds a Master of Science in Social Services and is pursuing a second Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.
