Emily O'Hara

Emily O'Hara is an experienced professional in guest experience and exhibit design, currently serving as the Senior Director of Guest Experience at the Detroit Zoological Society since November 2017, where leadership encompasses Guest Relations, Membership, Utility, and Events departments. Previously, Emily held roles including Senior Manager of Guest Experience Design and Curator of Exhibit Design at the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center, focusing on interpretive exhibits that align with the organization's mission. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Exhibit Content Developer at the Museum of Science in Boston, as well as various positions at Montshire Museum of Science and self-employment in exhibit evaluation and fabric art. Emily O'Hara holds an MA in Museum Studies from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Studio Art from Albion College.
