Abed Shareef

Abed Shareef is a seasoned data professional currently serving as Vice President of Big Data & Advanced Analytics at Deutsche Börse since June 2017, where responsibilities include leading the implementation of cloud-native data platforms, evolving group strategies around Cloud, Big Data, and AI, while ensuring operational excellence and compliance with standards. Prior roles include Head of Big Data and Advanced Analytics, Lead Data Architect, and Data Engineer at Mercateo from June 2015 to December 2016, focusing on Hadoop Ecosystem management and ETL processing. Abed also has experience as a Data Engineer at Experion Technologies from February 2012 to March 2013. Abed holds a Master of Science in Data and Knowledge Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Business Informatics, both from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
