Dr. Gordon Nehring has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Dr. Gordon began their career in 2010 as a Project Engineer at the Technical Training Centre of the German Air Force. Dr. Gordon then moved on to the Bundeswehr University Munich in 2013, where they held the position of PhD | Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Structural Engineering. During their time there, they conducted research on the design of cold bent structures made of thin glass and was actively involved in practical teaching and supervision of theses. Dr. Gordon also participated in materials and component testing, preparation of building authority test certificates, and national and international conferences. In 2016, Dr. Nehring joined the Bundeswehr as a Lecturer at the Institute of Constructional Engineering until 2020. Currently, they are working at the Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA) as the Head of the Patent Inspection Authority, where they specialize in patent examination in the field of vehicle technology, specifically in crash scenarios, pedestrian protection systems, and battery systems. Dr. Gordon'swork experience spans over a decade and encompasses both academic research and practical engineering roles.
Dr. Gordon Nehring obtained their Graduate Engineer degree in Construction Engineering from Bundeswehr University Munich, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. In September 2019, they attended and passed 5 of 8 in-service course weeks at Fraunhofer IFAM to become a certified European Adhesive Engineer.
