Kerstin Funck has had multiple work experiences in various organizations. Kerstin started their career in 2010 with an internship at Greenpeace. In 2011, they worked as part of the International Climate Initiative at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. From 2012 to 2014, they interned at Friedrich Ebert Foundation's fesmedia Africa program. In 2015, they held the position of Editorial Internship at Internationale Politik in the German Council on Foreign Relations. Later that year, they joined Aktion gegen den Hunger as Manager of International Programmes & Donor Relations. In 2019, they transitioned to the German Red Cross, first as Manager of Institutional Partnerships and then as Head of Unit Movement & Institutional Partnerships from July 2021 onwards.
Kerstin Funck completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Politikwissenschaft & Medienwissenschaft from Universität Trier from 2008 to 2011. Kerstin then pursued their Master's degree in Politikwissenschaft from the University of Münster from 2012 to 2015. In 2014, Kerstin had a brief study experience at Sciences Po Toulouse, focusing on Science Politique.
