Jonathan van Geuns is an experienced professional in data governance and project management, currently supporting UNICEF in conducting a comprehensive mapping of data governance functions since August 2022. Concurrently, Jonathan serves as a project manager at Development Gateway, leading farmer-centric data governance research to identify opportunities in agri-food models. With a role as data governance and design manager at the Centre de recherches interdisciplinaires en études montréalaises, Jonathan contributes to the development of Montreal's Social Data Hub. Additional positions include researching youth engagement at the Fraser Basin Council, co-developing Open Access content for the Wikimedia Foundation, and having previously managed measurement, evaluation, and learning activities at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Jonathan has a robust background characterized by leadership in innovative consultancy and academic endeavors spanning several years, contributing to data governance, social engagement, and sustainability initiatives. Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Leiden University, with education also including participation in the Peace Informatics Lab.
