Joe Schmitt

Joe Schmitt has extensive work experience in the software development industry. Joe currently holds the position of Chief Architect/Distinguished Engineer at Device42, a role they started in November 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Vice President of Software Development from January 2019 to October 2020 and as the Vice President of Software Development from January 2017 to December 2018, both positions also at Device42. In addition, they worked as a Senior Software Architect at Device42 from January 2015 to December 2016.

Before joining Device42, Joe Schmitt owned Calypso Systems, LLC since October 1996. Joe was responsible for overseeing the operations of the company.

Prior to Calypso Systems, Joe Schmitt held various roles in different organizations. From December 2010 to January 2015, they worked as the Director of Software Engineering at Tangoe. Joe served as a Consultant at Solium Capital from November 2010 to November 2011. Joe also worked as a Consultant at Computershare from an undisclosed start date to November 2010. Before that, they were a Consultant at Transcentive from an undisclosed start date to 2003 and at freetaxprep.com from an undisclosed start date to 2001. Furthermore, they served as the Director of Product Development at Lexitech (Netkey) from an undisclosed start date to 2000, and as the Director of Product Development at McHugh Software International (RedPrairie) from an undisclosed start date to 1999. Joe began their career as a Development Manager at Speedware from an undisclosed start date to 1997.

Joe Schmitt attended Branford High School from 1978 to 1982. Joe then went on to Roger Williams University, where they studied Management Information Systems and received a Bachelor of Science degree from 1982 to 1986. In terms of additional certifications, Joe obtained the Professional Scrum Product Owner I certification from Scrum.org in July 2021, as well as the Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I) certification from the same institution in the same month and year.
